Job summary

Spencer County Transportation in Taylorsville, Kentucky seeks a Part-Time Bus Monitor to support daily operations and ensure student safety on school transport. You will assist drivers, help manage seating, and communicate with staff and families to promote a secure, respectful riding environment.

The successful candidate will hold a high school diploma or GED, be able to lift up to 50 lbs., and comply with required background checks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Consent to background check as required by state law.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the bus driver in maintaining discipline and supervise students during bus operation.
• Document student information, complete route surveys and maintain records.
• Ensure seat belts, harnesses and wheelchair clamps are secured as required.
• Assist with safe loading/unloading of students and coordinate seating per guidelines.
• Communicate with aides, teachers, principals and parents regarding student needs.
• Be familiar with Emergency Evacuation procedures.
• Assist handicapped children and ensure appropriate supervision on return home.
• Attend in-service meetings and training as assigned.
• Maintain regular attendance and perform other duties as assigned.
