Tompkins County is seeking a School Bus Monitor to assist the School Bus Driver in the safe transportation of students in Ithaca, NY. You will help students board and disembark and ensure proper behavior during the trip.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED (or equivalent experience with students) and completion of NYSED mandated training before starting. Hourly wage is $16.00, with requirements related to residency and civil service rules.

Qualifications

• Graduation from High School or GED.
• Four years of full-time paid (or equivalent) experience working with students.

Responsibilities

• Assist the School Bus Driver in the safe transportation of students.
• Help students board and exit the bus and maintain proper student behavior.
• Complete mandated NYSED training prior to assuming the position.
