Job summary

North Penn School District is seeking a part-time Bus Driver to provide safe and efficient transportation for students on assigned routes. The role reports to the Coordinator of Transportation and operates under the Fleet Manager's direction.

Position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, a PA CDL Class B with School Bus endorsement preferred (training available), and a clean driving record. 180 days per year with 5–5.5 hours per day, totaling 25–27.5 hours per week.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• PA CDL Class B with School Bus endorsement preferred; will train the right candidate.
• Clean driving record for a minimum of 3 years.
• Able to pass annual school bus driver physical.

Responsibilities

• Operate school bus in compliance with all Federal and State DOT requirements.
• Maintain student order and discipline per district guidelines.
• Perform pre/post-trip vehicle inspections per PA Motor Vehicle Code.
• Follow routes and report deviations or safety concerns to supervisor.
• Keep route book and mileage logs accurate and up-to-date.
• Maintain a clean bus interior daily (floors, seats, windows).
• Communicate repairs or issues to the garage staff promptly.
• Attend in-service trainings as required by district/department.
• Interact professionally with students, parents, staff, and colleagues.
• Report student behavioral issues via Conduct Reports.
