Job summary

UNC School of the Arts is seeking a part-time Bus Driver to transport students and patrons to local and statewide destinations according to a scheduled timetable. The role requires strict adherence to traffic laws and school policies.

Responsibilities include pre/post inspections, supervising students, maintaining discipline, and reporting incidents. Availability evenings, weekends, and some holidays is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum: High School Diploma/GED.
• Must have an acceptable driving record as specified by NC DOT and UNCSA.
• Must have an acceptable criminal record as specified by UNCSA.
• Must possess a CDL class A or B with P & S endorsements.

Responsibilities

• Obeys all federal, state, and local laws, policies, regulations, administrative codes, and transportation operation guidelines.
• Obeys all traffic laws; observes all mandatory safety regulations for buses.
• Maintains safe driver standards and applicable physical and dexterity standards.
• Supervises students and maintains discipline while transporting them; complies with the Code of Conduct.
• Exercises leadership on field trips; reports accidents and post-accident drug testing as required.
• Performs pre and post-inspection activities for mechanical defects, fuel levels, cleanliness, and vandalism.
• Participates in onsite training and performs related duties as assigned.
• Available nights, weekends, and occasionally holidays.
