Job summary

Mansfield City Schools is seeking substitute bus drivers to provide safe and efficient transportation for students within the district. The role requires maintaining discipline on the bus, adhering to traffic and safety laws, and reporting incidents to the Transportation Supervisor.

Applicants must hold a valid Ohio CDL with Class B, School Bus and Passenger endorsements and be willing to participate in required pre-service and in-service trainings.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Ohio CDL with Class B, School Bus and Passenger endorsements.
• Five years driving experience with a clean driving record.
• Must meet physical, mental and moral requirements per state and local policies.
• Annual driver record check required.
• Pass Ohio school bus recertification every 6 years.
• Able to pass substance screening at random.

Responsibilities

• Obey all traffic laws and mandatory safety regulations for school buses.
• Maintain discipline on the bus during trips.
• Report discipline problems and incidents to the Transportation Supervisor.
• Keep the bus clean, fueled and within schedule.
• Inspect bus for mechanical defects before each trip and report issues.
