Job summary

State of Maine in Connor Consolidated School is seeking a part-time school bus driver to transport Pre-K-12 students daily, ensuring safety and timely arrivals. You will follow Title 20A transportation rules and school policies while maintaining order on the bus and communicating effectively with staff and students.

The role requires a High school diploma or equivalent, 21 years of age, and a valid Maine Class B license with passenger and school bus endorsement.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Maine Motor Vehicle laws.
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal rules for school buses.
• Ability to maintain order and discipline on the bus.
• Ability to communicate with staff and pupils.
• Ability to perform minor maintenance and adjustments to bus.
• Ability to life independently objects weighing up to 70 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Safely operating and driving a school bus to transport students to and from school and activities.
• Maintain student discipline and enforce bus rules.
• Inspect and clean the bus to ensure safe operation.
• Report violations, accidents, or maintenance needs to appropriate authorities.
• Ensure students are picked up and dropped off at authorized stops per policies.
