Starting pay ranges from $20.10 to $24.21 per hour, with pre-employment drug/alcohol testing and a background check required. Applicants must hold a Nevada CDL with Passenger & School Bus endorsements, plus a high school diploma.

Qualifications

• Must pass medical examinations and meet CDL medical requirements.
• Able to learn and apply district rules and school bus policies.
• Able to work cooperatively with students, staff, parents and the public.
• Identify hazards and follow safety standards in all operations.
• Know FERPA/HIPAA confidentiality requirements in an educational setting.
• Understand and support district policies and admin regulations.
• Identify safety hazards and respond to unauthorized individuals promptly.
• Be aware of and participate in emergency response procedures.

Responsibilities

• Obeys all traffic laws while operating a school bus.
• Follows safety regulations for school buses and maintains discipline on board.
• Keeps bus interior and vision mirrors clean and orderly.
• Adheres to route, stops and schedule as directed by supervisor.
• Reports accidents and completes required reports promptly.
• Notifies appropriate authorities for mechanical or safety issues.
• Exhibits leadership on out-of-district trips and ensures student safety.
• Transports only authorized students and district employees.
• Performs daily pre-trip safety inspection of the bus.
• Enforces district bus safety rules consistently.
• Performs other duties related to the area of responsibilities as assigned.
