Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Valid Missouri Driver’s License and ability to pass a background check.
Certificate of physical examination signed by a licensed physician is required.
Applicants must be at least 21 years old.

Responsibilities

Perform safety checks daily and document inspections.
Maintain fuel levels for planned trips and routes.
Direct questions about transportation to the director of transportation.
Report to the director of transportation and notify if a route cannot be completed.
Submit maintenance requests in writing to the transportation director.
Log oil changes and maintenance every 3,000 miles.
Be at school ten minutes before buses depart.
Follow posted speed limits and adjust for road/weather conditions.
Make safety decisions on routes within board policies.
Undergo annual physical and random drug/alcohol testing.
Attend required training beyond the minimum 8 hours per year.
Follow transportation manual regulations.
Carry out duties assigned by the board of education and superintendent.
