Job summary

RSU 48 is seeking an Hourly Contracted Occupational Therapist for a part-time role, delivering direct services approximately 3–4 hours weekly at Lincoln Academy and monthly virtual consults for a program in Wiscasset.

The OT will assess fine motor, sensory-motor skills in educational settings, develop goals, participate in IEP meetings, and maintain documentation. Maine licensure and NBCOT are required; school experience preferred. Testing kits/protocols available as needed.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in occupational therapy from an accredited program.
• NBCOT national certification.
• State of Maine licensure.
• State of Maine Criminal History Records Check Approval.
• Public School experience preferred.
• Knowledge of developmental, orthopedic, and neurological disorders.
• Knowledge of sensory-based theories, tools, and strategies.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate fine motor, visual perceptual, functional and sensory motor skills as they relate to the educational setting.
• Plan and implement therapy programs for children with developmental, fine motor, functional, musculoskeletal, and sensory motor impairments.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents and staff.
• Maintain appropriate licensing as an Occupational Therapist.
• Attend regularly scheduled meetings with colleagues.
• Prepare written reports, maintain progress reports, rate goals, and attend and participate in IEP team meetings.
• Maintain records/files documenting referral, assessment, recommendations, and therapy notes.
