Job summary

Springbrook High School in Silver Spring is seeking an athletics coach for the upcoming season. Qualified applicants will be MCPS teachers or certified educators and must complete the MCPS mandatory course on Care and Prevention of Athletic Injuries, Coaching Fundamentals and CPR/AED, as well as submit the online MCPS application.

This is a temporary part-time coaching position without benefits; wage information is provided by the hiring manager and is determined by multiple factors per MCPS

Qualifications

• Be MCPS teacher or professional certified educator employed by MCPS.
• Have completed or be enrolled in the two credit MCPS course "Care and Prevention of Athletic Injuries, Coaching Fundamentals and CPR/AED" offered periodically through the MCPS Athletics Unit.
• Complete/submit the on-line MCPS Application.

Responsibilities

• Be interviewed and hired by the principal or designee at the school where the coaching vacancy exists.
• Coaches must be qualified and are hired for one season.
• Schools must hire qualified MCPS teachers or professional certified educators to coaching positions, if available.
• Emergency coaches may be hired if no qualified MCPS teacher or professional certified educator is available.
