Job summary

Queensbury Theatre is seeking an Overhire Scenic Carpenter (Part Time) to join the Production team in Houston. You will construct scenery, assist with build, load-in/load-out, and maintain a safe, efficient shop environment.

The ideal candidate has construction experience with woodworking, framing, finish carpentry, metalworking, welding, and safe operation of power tools. Some weekend/evening hours may be required.

Qualifications

• Construction experience required.
• Woodworking, framing and finish carpentry skills.
• Metal working, welding, bending.
• Safe operation of power tools and hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Construct scenery and set pieces.
• Collaborate with staff for safe build, installation and strike.
• Assist with load‑in and strike of productions.
• Maintain a clean, safe shop environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Production Manager.
• Actively engage in inclusive practices in the scene shop and theatre-wide.
