Job summary

United Quality Cooperative in New Town, ND, is actively seeking a Sales Associate to deliver outstanding customer service, assist customers with product choices, stock shelves, and run the cash register. The role may involve deli duties and ensuring displays are clean and attractive.

You will collaborate with team members to provide a positive shopping experience, follow store policies, and help maintain a safe, organized store environment.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Reading, writing, basic math and verbal communication skills required.
• 1 year of previous work experience in retail preferred, convenience store environment.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to multitask, be a self-starter, and complete tasks in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

• Understand and follow all policies and procedures.
• Work with customers to ensure satisfaction in areas such as quality, service, and problem resolution.

Also supports daily store operations by stocking shelves, monitoring inventory, and ensuring displays are organized and appealing. When needed, assists in the deli department by preparing and packaging food items, serving customers, maintaining food safety and sanitation standards, and helping keep the deli area clean and well-stocked. Working Conditions

Work is generally performed in a retail/store setting.

• This employee has direct and frequent contact with customers.
• Tasks are performed in all areas inside and outside of the store and can include exposure to extreme temperatures (both hot and cold), vapors, fumes, high humidity, and household and commercial chemicals short periods routinely, with the possibility for longer periods.
• The noise level is generally moderate.
• Work can include long hours on all shifts, weekends and holidays.
• Occasional in kitchen work

Physical Requirements

• Stand for an entire shift/extended period of time.
• Walk for long distances.
• Use hands and fingers to handle and feel.
• Ability to reach with hands and arms.
• Occasionally required to sit.
