Job summary

MedStar Health is seeking a part-time weekday Vascular Technologist for Medstar Vascular Institute - Waldorf. The candidate should be an RVT with strong communication and problem-solving skills.

The role involves diagnostic vascular studies, quality assurance activities, and coordination with clinical staff to ensure high-quality patient care. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred, and BLS is required. Hybrid or flexible hours may be considered based on workflow.

Qualifications

• Associate degree with a concentration in vascular sonography.
• RVT - Registered Vascular Technologist by ARDMS.
• BLS - Basic Life Support.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Experience post-graduation in vascular experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Actively participates in quality assurance program by completing accrediting body requirements to maintain lab certification and coordinates patient care with clinical staff.
• Maintains regulatory/compliance environment by following policies to ensure standards and maintains patient data and studies.
• Performs diagnostic carotid arterials and venous studies on patients with suspected peripheral vascular disease per ICAVL guidelines.
• Prepares preliminary diagnostic reports by compiling measurements and data for physician review and interpretation.
• Recognizes and alerts physicians to abnormal studies and ensures timely communication of patient data.
