Job summary

CHS Career Site is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide patient-centered care using the nursing process. This part-time role in Birmingham collaborates with physicians, nurses, and staff to ensure high-quality care and positive patient outcomes.

The RN will conduct assessments, administer medications, educate patients and families, and participate in safety and infection control practices in accordance with hospital standards.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in clinical nursing or student rotations in acute care required
• RN licensure in state or compact state licensure required
• BCLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) preferred
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) preferred

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and delivers patient-centered care per nursing process
• Performs thorough patient assessments and documents findings
• Administers prescribed medications and monitors for side effects
• Assists physicians during procedures within competency scope
• Develops and evaluates individualized care plans with the care team
• Engages in patient and family education and discharge planning
