Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services is seeking a part-time RN to provide direct patient care in Albuquerque, NM. The role uses the nursing process to prioritize and coordinate care across shifts, while collaborating with families and the broader care team.

Qualifications

• Degree from accredited academic nursing program
• Minimum ADN preparation
• State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License required
• Required Certification from either AHA, ASHI, or Red Cross; BLS for all RN roles

Responsibilities

• Oversee delivery of patient care as clinical resource; direct and delegate assignments to home health aides and nursing staff.
• Maintain clinical competency in direct patient care; evaluate outcomes and adjust care as needed.
• Coordinate patient care through collaboration with patient, family, physicians and community resources.
• Ensure patient rights, informed consent, and clear discharge instructions are understood.
• Direct patient and family teaching using demonstrations and aids in home settings.
• Maintain knowledge of current nursing research, standards and hospital policies to improve care quality.
• Maintain proficiency with equipment used in practice and communicate effectively with the nursing team.
• Perform on-call duties and triage patients over the phone when needed.
• Supervise home health aides in compliance with Medicare/Medicaid rules.
