Job summary

Family Dollar in Lakefield, MN is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service and team development. You will assist with opening/closing, merchandise flow, and adherence to policies while helping train Store Associates.

The role emphasizes ensuring a positive customer experience, maintaining store standards, and safeguarding assets. Part-time schedule with responsibilities across merchandising, payroll and loss prevention.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communicate related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional displays and store fixtures.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged items, record keeping, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sale floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies, safety guidelines, and train/guide store associates.
• Support Store Manager in supervising and developing store associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Ensure store cleanliness, bathrooms stocked, floors cleaned, trash managed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
