Job description

Smart & Final is hiring a Part‑time Retail Associate at 3705 Rosecrans St., San Diego, CA 92110. Join our team of experienced retail professionals dedicated to delivering exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

• Maintain assigned store sections and stock merchandise using proper equipment (excluding power/heavy equipment).
• Ensure proper pricing, check product date codes to validate rotation, and stock shelves, end displays, floor stacks, displays, and refrigerated/frozen cases.
• Prepare perishable products for sale as needed.
• Set up advertising and promotional displays.
• Clean and maintain sanitation standards in all interior and exterior areas of the store and parking lot per management instructions.
• Provide friendly, knowledgeable, efficient, and courteous assistance to customers by delivering current store and product information.
• Assist customers to load purchases into vehicles when requested.
• Perform basic bookkeeping duties, including recording lost/damaged goods and store supplies using appropriate tools.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and write English, interact with the general public and coworkers.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, pricing codes, shelf tags, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and employees.
• Apply common sense to carry out detailed but simple written or oral instructions.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 lbs., frequently up to 45 lbs., and occasionally up to 60 lbs.
