Smart & Final is hiring a Part-time Retail Associate for the Laguna Hills store at 26560 Mouton Parkway, Laguna Hills, CA 92653. The role involves stocking, customer service, and store upkeep in a busy grocery environment.

Qualifications

• Read and write English; interact with the general public and co-workers.
• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, pricing codes, shelf tags, short correspondence, and memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees.
• Apply common sense to carry out detailed but uncomplicated written or oral instructions.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently up to 45 pounds, and occasionally up to 60 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a store section as assigned and stock merchandise.
• Ensure proper pricing, check product date codes, and validate proper rotation while stocking shelves and displays.
• Prepare perishable products for sale as needed.
• Set up advertising/promotional displays.
• Clean and maintain sanitation standards in store areas and parking lot as directed by management.
• Offer friendly, knowledgeable, efficient, and courteous assistance to customers.
• Assist customers in loading purchases into their vehicles when requested.
• Perform basic bookkeeping duties, including recording lost/damaged goods and store supplies.

The Opportunity

The Part‑time Retail Associate performs management‑assigned duties, which may include but are not limited to stocking and maintaining a store section, carry‑out services, and store cleaning.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain a store section as assigned and stock merchandise using proper equipment (excluding power/heavy equipment).
• Ensure proper pricing, check product date codes, and validate proper rotation while stocking shelves, end displays, floor stacks, displays, and refrigerated/frozen cases.
• Prepare perishable products for sale as needed.
• Set up advertising/promotional displays.
• Clean and maintain sanitation standards in all interior and exterior store areas and parking lot as directed by management.
• Offer friendly, knowledgeable, efficient, and courteous assistance to customers, providing current store and product information.
• Assist customers in loading purchases into their vehicles when requested.
• Perform basic bookkeeping duties, including recording lost/damaged goods and store supplies using appropriate tools.
