Job summary

Smart & Final is hiring a Part-time Retail Associate for the 451 San Jose store. The role focuses on delivering excellent customer service, stocking and merchandising, and assisting customers in a fast-paced grocery warehouse environment.

Responsibilities

• Stock merchandise and maintain store sections using proper equipment.
• Ensure proper pricing and rotate products; maintain displays and cases.
• Prepare perishable products for sale as needed.
• Set up advertising/promotional displays and maintain sanitation standards.
• Assist customers with current store and product information.
• Help customers load purchases into vehicles when requested.
• Perform basic bookkeeping for lost/damaged goods and store supplies.

The Opportunity

The Part-time Retail Associate performs management-assigned duties, which may include but may not be limited to, stocking and maintaining a store section, carry-out services and store cleaning.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain a store section as assigned and stock merchandise using proper equipment (excluding power/heavy equipment)
• Assures proper pricing on merchandise, checks product date codes to validate proper rotation, stocks shelves, end displays, floor stacks, displays and refrigerated/frozen cases.
• Prepares perishable products for sale as needed
• Sets up advertising/promotional displaysCleans and maintains sanitation standards in all interior and exterior areas of store and parking lot as directed by store management
• Offers friendly, knowledgeable, efficient and courteous assistance to customers by providing them with current store and product information
• When requested, loads customer purchases by assisting customers to their vehicles
• Performs basic bookkeeping duties, including recording lost/damaged goods and store supplies using appropriate tools
