Job summary

Smart & Final in Venice, CA is hiring a Part-time Retail Associate for the Venice store. Starting rate is $18.50 per hour. The role includes stocking, pricing, customer service, and light carry-out duties within a fast-paced warehouse-style grocery environment.

The candidate should read and write English, interact with customers and coworkers, and be able to lift up to 60 pounds. Basic PC/Outlook skills are a plus. Join our team at 604 Lincoln Blvd, Venice.

Qualifications

• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, product pricing codes, shelf tags, short correspondence, and memos.
• Effectively present information to customers, clients, and other employees.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a store section as assigned and stock merchandise using proper equipment (excluding power/heavy equipment).
• Assure proper pricing on merchandise, check product date codes to validate rotation, stock shelves, end displays and refrigerated/frozen cases.
• Prepare perishable products for sale as needed.
• Set up advertising/promotional displays.
• Clean and maintain sanitation standards in all interior and exterior areas of store and parking lot.
• Offer friendly, knowledgeable, efficient and courteous assistance to customers with current store and product information.
• When requested, load customer purchases by assisting customers to their vehicles.
• Perform basic bookkeeping duties, including recording lost/damaged goods and store supplies.

The Opportunity

The Part-time Retail Associate performs management-assigned duties, which may include but may not be limited to, stocking and maintaining a store section, carry-out services and store cleaning.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned or required:

• Maintain a store section as assigned and stock merchandise using proper equipment (excluding power/heavy equipment)
• Assures proper pricing on merchandise, checks product date codes to validate proper rotation, stocks shelves, end displays, floor stacks, displays and refrigerated/frozen cases.
