Job summary

Chedraui USA’s Smart & Final banner in Bellflower is hiring a Part-time Retail Associate for the 311 Bellflower store location. You’ll deliver customer-centric service, assist with stocking, merchandising, and daily store operations in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include maintaining displays, assisting customers, and following safety and pricing procedures, with opportunities to contribute to promotions and store upkeep.

Qualifications

• Read and write English, interact with general public and co-workers.
• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, shelf tags, short correspondence, and memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers and colleagues.
• Apply common sense understanding to follow detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently up to 45 pounds, and occasionally up to 60 pounds.
• Basic PC/Outlook skills.
• Retail Management Certificate (nice-to-have).

Responsibilities

• Maintain a store section as assigned and stock merchandise with proper equipment.
• Ensure proper pricing, rotate stock, and maintain displays and cold cases.
• Prepare perishables for sale as needed.
• Set up advertising/promotional displays.
• Keep store and parking areas clean and sanitary.
• Provide friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient customer assistance.
• Assist customers to their vehicles when required.
• Record losses, damages, and store supplies in logs.

The Opportunity

The Part-time Retail Associate performs management‑assigned duties, which may include but may not be limited to, stocking and maintaining a store section, carry‑out services and store cleaning.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

include the following. Other duties may be assigned or required:

• Maintain a store section as assigned and stock merchandise using proper equipment (excluding power/heavy equipment)
• Assures proper pricing on merchandise, checks product date codes to validate proper rotation, stocks shelves, end displays, floor stacks, displays and refrigerated/frozen cases.
• Prepares perishable products for sale as needed
• Sets up advertising/promotional displays
• Cleans and maintains sanitation standards in all interior and exterior areas of store and parking lot as directed by store management
• Offers friendly, knowledgeable, efficient and courteous assistance to customers by providing them with current store and product information
• When requested, loads customer purchases by assisting customers to their vehicles
• Performs basic bookkeeping duties, including recording lost/damaged goods and store supplies using appropriate tools
