Job summary

Pima Medical Institute in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Respiratory Therapist Instructor for a part-time, on-site role with up to 30 hours per week between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM. Compensation is $35.00–$38.75 per hour, with ESOP and retirement benefits.

As an RT Instructor, you will educate, mentor, and develop future respiratory care leaders while stepping back from bedside care to focus on teaching and curriculum delivery.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree from an accredited program; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of three (3) years of direct practical experience as a hospital or clinical Respiratory Therapist.
• Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential and current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) Arizona licensure.
• Current certifications, licenses, or credentials required by local, state, or federal laws to practice and instruct in the field.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and educational computer applications.

Responsibilities

• Instructional Delivery & Curriculum Management: Prepare and deliver lectures, labs, and demonstrations.
• Dynamic Lectures & Labs: Deliver engaging lectures and hands-on demonstrations for groups and individuals.
• Lesson Planning: Implement daily lesson plans aligned with program objectives.
• Enrichment Activities: Arrange guest speakers and field trips; assist with externships.
• Student Success & Academic Support: Monitor performance and provide advising to maintain high success rates.
• Attendance & Progress Tracking: Track attendance, submit reports, and coordinate with leadership.
