This clinical RCP position involves teaching labs and providing student clinical oversight at various local hospitals. The clinical oversight duties include advocating for students, evaluating students, and serving as a role model in the clinical setting. The lab duties include student evaluation and all aspects of organizing lab instruction and equipment to correlate with classroom instruction.
This position completes course and program-related assignments delegated by the program director and participates in student recruitment, admissions and retention activities, new clinician/teaching assistant orientation, and documentation of student competencies and evaluation in the lab and clinical setting.
The position may require up to 29 hours per week.
Candidates must have completed the specific program and have a current Registered Respiratory Therapist credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care. They must also hold a current license to practice Respiratory Care in Michigan.
Candidates must be committed to student retention and success and display exceptional interpersonal and team-working skills.
Graduates of Kalamazoo Valley's respiratory care program are preferred.
Experience in individual and group mentoring and tutoring is preferred.
Must be able to demonstrate skills in the lab; including bending, lifting, and moving, not only RCP equipment, but the simulation manikins and other lab equipment, as required for setup and tear down of labs.
Work Hours: Dependent upon sections taught, but not exceed 29 hours per week.
