Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA seeks a part-time Research Assistant in computer vision and machine learning for human behavior analysis from video. You will investigate new algorithms and models to understand behavior and interactions, with applications to medical research and affective computing.

You will follow research plans to collect, record and manipulate data, maintain accurate records, and report progress to the research director.

Qualifications

• Master of Science (MS) in computer vision, machine learning, artificial intelligence, or a closely related field.
• Strong programming skills.
• Strong background in machine learning / computer vision/ human behavior modeling, with specialization in related areas.

Responsibilities

• Write code and develop novel AI/ML algorithms focused on human behavior modeling from video.
• Develop and maintain software for maximum efficiency and usability.
• Design, develop, tests and maintain applications or system programs.
• Gathers and provides input on functional specifications and requirements.
• Perform approved research tasks including data collection, storage, and analysis.
• Follow research policies and maintain scientific integrity and data storage.
