Job summary

Corner Alliance is seeking a Part-Time Cybersecurity Subject Matter Expert to support a federal government client. The role requires 8–10 years of cybersecurity experience and deep knowledge of RMF, NIST SP 800-53/171, and CMMC.

The SME will evaluate architectures, assess risks, and provide secure design recommendations while ensuring alignment with federal standards. The position offers primarily remote work with occasional in-person meetings at our Washington, DC area headquarters and other

Qualifications

• 8+ years of cybersecurity-related experience
• Experience performing cybersecurity assessments, evaluations or security reviews
• Strong knowledge of secure system design, risk management, vulnerability management and security engineering
• Familiarity with NIST RMF, NIST SP 800-53, NIST SP 800-171, CMMC
• Experience evaluating AI, cloud, or emerging tech security considerations
• Excellent written and verbal communication to diverse audiences
• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain Public Trust or higher clearance (as required)

Responsibilities

• Serve as a cybersecurity SME supporting evaluation of R&D efforts for government systems.
• Assess architectures, approaches, and designs for emerging technologies.
• Evaluate risks, vulnerabilities, and mitigations across proposed solutions.
• Review security documentation per federal standards/best practices.
• Provide security recommendations for design, software assurance, cloud security, data protection, and supply chain risk.
• Prepare technical assessments and briefing materials for government stakeholders.
• Collaborate with reviewers, program staff, and government stakeholders.
• Maintain documentation supporting analyses and findings.
