Job summary

D’Youville Life and Wellness Community in Lowell, MA is seeking a Registered Dietitian - Part-Time to join our 208-bed, faith-based, nonprofit facility. This role offers 24 hours per week and compensation ranging from $33 to $43 per hour, based on skills and experience.

You will plan and direct nutritional care, educate residents and families, ensure diet modifications meet medical needs, and work with the care team.

Qualifications

• Active Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) registration through the Commission of Dietetic Registration of the American Dietetic Association.
• Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum 2 years Clinical Nutrition experience in a healthcare setting.
• Knowledge of current best practices in medical nutrition therapy.
• Strong knowledge of State and Federal regulatory guidelines, MDS and standards affecting Long-Term Care Clinical Nutrition department.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, develop, and direct the nutritional care of residents in accordance with policy and regulations.
• Assess/Monitor the residents’ nutritional status and provide recommendations to clinical/medical staff.
• Educate residents, families and staff on nutritional concepts and diet modification.
• Work with other team members to ensure modified texture or therapeutic diets meet resident’s medical conditions.
• Orient newly hired staff; develop policies and procedures; complete employee evaluations; provide in-service education.
• Practice management by rounding.
• Participate in care conferences and communicate nutritional updates to residents and representatives as needed.
• Complete resident nutritional assessments.
