Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Reading Specialist to provide direct reading instruction and intervention for students in grades 7–12 in Massachusetts. This role supports IEP goals, collaborates with teachers and families, and uses evidence-based literacy strategies to monitor progress.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in reading/literacy or related field.
• Massachusetts Reading Specialist license or eligibility.
• Experience with middle/high school students and literacy interventions.
• Knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, and MA Special Education Regulations.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct reading instruction and intervention per IEPs.
• Conduct literacy assessments and analyze data to identify needs.
• Differentiate instruction and modify curriculum for diverse learners.
• Develop and monitor individualized intervention plans.
• Collaborate with teachers and families to support literacy across content areas.
• Participate in IEP development, meetings, and compliance.
• Communicate progress and recommendations to families.
