For additional information on remote work at Penn State, see .** **JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS**The Penn State Berkey Creamery is currently seeking a part-time intern to assist in the Quality Assurance Lab. This is a hands-on position that requires active physical and mental participation, with or without accommodation. Working hours may possibly involve late evenings, early mornings and weekend hours on occasions as schedules accommodate.Job Duties:* Assisting with testing (analytical, microbiological) and evaluating (organoleptic) and release of products* Managing ingredient and finished product documents including specifications, recipes, nutritional labels, standard operating procedures and other documentation related to food quality and safety in support of the manufacturing of dairy productsRequirements and qualifications:* High attention to detail* Must be available to work weekends* The student should have food science experience or similar exposure to food processing at the lab, pilot plant or manufacturing plant level* The student must be able to work as part of a team as well as with a diversified group of people* The candidate selected must be able to follow Good Manufacturing Practices for the food industry **BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES**Employment with the University will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies. **CAMPUS SECURITY CRIME STATISTICS**Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR).
