Job summary

Virginia Military Institute is seeking a part-time Laboratory Technician to support psychology labs, statistics and research methods courses. The role reports to the Department Head and helps maintain the lab, troubleshoot equipment, and assist in data preparation and analysis.

The candidate should have an Associate’s degree in Psychology (or related field) and familiarity with Microsoft Office and data analysis tools; experience with SPSS, Qualtrics, or E-Prime is a plus.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent in Psychology or related field.
• Experience with routine laboratory operations and data handling.
• Familiarity with SPSS, Qualtrics, and basic data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Assist in lab and statistics classes; support research methods labs.
• Perform routine laboratory maintenance and organization.
• Troubleshoot hardware/software issues and maintain lab supplies.
• Prepare sample charts, graphs, and data reports; assist with data collection.
