Job summary

D&W Fresh Market in Grand Rapids is seeking a Produce Clerk to maintain and operate the produce department, trim and prepare merchandise, and ensure shelves are well stocked and attractive. You will weigh, package and label products, and handle damaged items per guidelines while supporting deliveries and guest service.

Responsibilities include unloading deliveries, rotating stock, and applying suggestive selling techniques to enhance the guest experience; adhere to safety and cleaning standards

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (GED) preferred.
• One year of retail or related experience preferred.
• Able to work with fresh fruits and vegetables without allergies.
• Ability to read, write, comprehend and interpret documents.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Detail oriented and reliable.

Responsibilities

• Cut, slice and prepare produce as directed and format products per procedures.
• Weigh, package and label products for sale.
• Handle spoiled or damaged products per guidelines.
• Fill, rotate and merchandise shelves, displays and cases; assist unloading deliveries.
• Notify Manager when products or supplies need ordering.
• Practice suggestive selling and maintain guest experience guidelines.
• Maintain knowledge of department products, prices and use.
• Follow PPE, safety, food safety and cleaning expectations.
