Job summary

CoreCivic is seeking a Part Time Physician to provide comprehensive primary healthcare to incarcerated individuals within a correctional facility. The role includes evaluating, diagnosing, treating acute and chronic illnesses, and coordinating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure quality care within a medical home model.

The physician will perform medical evaluations, develop treatment plans, order tests, provide vaccinations, and participate in quality improvement and patient education

Qualifications

• Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
• Current and unrestricted medical license to practice medicine in the state/jurisdiction and DEA registration.
• Strong diagnostic and clinical skills; experience in primary care and correctional medicine is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive primary healthcare to incarcerated individuals.
• Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses; manage preventive care.
• Develop treatment plans, prescribe medications, and coordinate with multidisciplinary team.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests and provide vaccinations and screenings.
• Collaborate with specialists and coordinate patient care within a medical home model.
