Job summary

CPCD is seeking a Part Time Preschool Lead Teacher to plan and implement learning experiences for the whole child in a safe, supportive environment located in Colorado Springs. The role is 24 hours per week with an AM schedule beginning October 19.

Requires an Associates in ECE or related field with Director Qualified, plus experience in curriculum planning, assessments, and nurturing teacher-child interactions. CPR/First Aid, and other clearances are required within the first year.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in ECE or related field and Colorado Department of Human Services Director Qualified.
• Experience teaching in the early childhood education field including planning and implementing curriculum, using assessments, and providing nurturing teacher-child interactions.
• Must be able to lift/carry up to 40 pounds.
• First Aid and infant, child & adult CPR within the first year of employment and maintain as required.
• Medication Administration certification within 90 days of employment and maintain as required.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment physical examination, TB test, drug test (including marijuana), and background check.
• Must have access to reliable transportation and if using a personal vehicle must maintain minimum liability insurance as determined by the State of Colorado.

Pay Scale

• Step 2: Bachelor's Degree in ECE or related Field and DQ (Written Agreement to obtain a DQ if not held)
  • $29.65/hr.

CPCD is committed to the comprehensive early childhood development model, which is at the basis of its successful Head Start and Early Head Start programs. CPCD serves just under 1,200 prenatal through five-year-old at-risk, low-income and special needs children and their families. We operate classrooms in six school districts all throughout El Paso County.

Requirements

• Associates degree in ECE or related field and Colorado Department of Human Services Director Qualified. If a candidate is not currently Director Qualified, they must agree to obtain this certificate and begin the process to obtain immediately.

• Must have access to reliable transportation and if using a personal vehicle must maintain minimum liability insurance as determined by the State of Colorado.

Preferred

• Bachelor's degree in early childhood education or closely related field with 30 credits of early childhood education courses.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish or other language relevant to the community served)
