Job summary

The Lion of Judah Early Learning Centers in Windsor Mill, MD is seeking a warm, energetic Part-Time Preschool Assistant Teacher to support the lead teacher in delivering engaging, developmentally appropriate preschool activities within a nurturing, faith-based setting.

Shifts run Mon-Fri with options 7am-1pm, 2-6pm, or 9am-6pm on M/W/F; we emphasize safety, teamwork, reliable presence, and opportunities for advancement, along with training and tuition assistance to help you grow with our center.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; coursework in Early Childhood Education preferred.
• Prior preschool or early childhood experience.
• Pass background check and state childcare compliance.
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Reliable, punctual, collaborative team player.

Responsibilities

• Assist lead teacher with age-appropriate preschool lessons.
• Support a safe, structured, engaging classroom.
• Supervise children during indoor/outdoor play and meals.
• Help implement curriculum aligned with milestones.
• Communicate with parents and guardians professionally.
• Assist with setup, cleanup, and material prep.
• Observe and report on children's progress to lead teacher.

• Monday-Friday 7am -1pm
• Monday-Friday 2-6pm
• Mon- Wed- Fri 9-6pm

Responsibilities

• Assist lead teacher in delivering age-appropriate lessons and activities for preschool-aged children
• Support a safe, structured, and engaging classroom environment
• Supervise children during indoor and outdoor play, meals, and transitions
• Help implement early childhood curriculum aligned with developmental milestones
• Communicate positively and professionally with parents and guardians
• Assist with classroom setup, cleanup, and preparation of learning materials
• Observe and report on children's behavior, progress, and needs to the lead teacher

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; coursework in Early Childhood Education preferred
• Prior experience working with preschool or early childhood-aged children
• Genuine passion for child development and early learning
• Strong communication, patience, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to pass a background check and meet state childcare compliance requirements
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Reliable, punctual, and a collaborative team player
