Job summary

Columbus Technical College is seeking a part-time Practical Nursing instructor to teach in the PN program, evaluate student progress, and attend staff development activities. The role requires moving about, lifting up to 50 lbs, and may include teaching off-campus within our service area.

Strong organizational and communication skills are essential. Minimum qualifications include an Associate degree in Nursing, 3+ years RN practice, and current Georgia or eNLC license.

Qualifications

• Associatedegree in Nursing from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum of three years of practice as a licensed registered nurse within the preceding seven years.
• Current Georgia or eNLC (enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact) RN License.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university.
• Teaching experience in post-secondary education.

Responsibilities

• Instruct students in the PN program
• Follow state standards in developing the program and course outlines, goals, and objectives
• Evaluate student’s progress in attaining goals and objectives
• Request and maintain supplies and equipment
• Develop teaching methods and maintain management procedures and documentation
• Meet with students, staff members, and other educators to discuss students’ instructional programs and other issues impacting the progress of the students
• Ensure safety and security requirements are met in the training areas
• Respond promptly to administrative requests
• Assist with recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts
• Maintain program accreditation requirements as appropriate
• Strong time management and organization skills
• Effective written and oral communication
• Keen observation, supervision, and evaluation skills
• General Computer knowledge (Microsoft Word, Excel)
• Involvement in professional activities/organizations
• Other job-related duties as assigned
