Job summary

Central Ohio Technical College seeks a part-time faculty member to teach Basic Police Academy/Training courses in Coshocton. Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, law, or closely related field, or a bachelor’s with teaching concentration.
Five years of experience as a full-time law enforcement officer and completion of OPOTC 80-hour instructional skills course or 40-hour course plus 14-hour update as required by OAC 109:2-1-06 and 109:2-1-06(b).
In lieu of a degree, associates with related experience or professional licensure/certifications may be considered.
Ability to communicate effectively and maintain positive relationships with students, peers, supervisors, and staff.
Willingness to teach using various instructional modes, including email and online learning management systems.
Commitment to meeting learning needs and aligning with the college’s mission and values.
Successful completion of a background check.

Responsibilities

Provide professional teaching of technical education courses at the undergraduate level using active learning and diverse instructional strategies.
Assess student learning and provide academic assistance as needed.
Facilitate student engagement and support in a college setting.
