Job summary
Horizon Behavioral Health is seeking a part-time Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) in Lynchburg, VA. The PMHNP will provide medical, diagnostic and treatment services for children or adults in collaboration with agency psychiatrists, under supervision and within established guidelines.
Required are an MS in Nursing/PMHNP, Virginia PMHNP license, and DEA registration; one year of PMHNP experience preferred.
Qualifications
- Master of Science in Nursing with PMHNP specialization and Virginia licensure.
- Board certification as PMHNP required or as determined by licensing board.
- DEA registration required.
- Prefer 1 year of PMHNP experience; new graduates considered.
Responsibilities
- Provide medical, diagnostic and treatment services for child or adult population in collaboration with agency psychiatrists.
- Maintain patient medical records and prepare reports in compliance with licensure regulations.
- Develop treatment and service plans after effective interviews and assessments.
- Collaborate with physicians, staff and community partners; provide expert testimony as needed.
- Travel to Horizon work sites and transport clients when necessary.
- Ability to work calmly in crisis situations and prioritize service demands.
