Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in Visalia, CA is seeking a part-time phlebotomist to join our plasma center team. You will perform phlebotomy to support operations and screen donors, while delivering compassionate customer service.

Flexibility is valued: evenings, weekends, and holidays, with shifts typically 4–6 hours, 3+ days per week. You report to the Plasma Center Manager and help ensure donor safety and data accuracy in the Donor Information System.

Qualifications

• Must hold one of: CPT1 CPT2 CLS or MLT licenses in CA.
• Experience in customer or patient-facing roles is helpful.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones and greet donors while ensuring donor and team safety.
• Screen new and repeat donors; take and record donor vital signs and finger sticks.
• Maintain donor charts and coordinate donor compensation in the system.
• Identify opportunities to improve center processes per approved procedures.
• Work a variety of shifts, including Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.

About The Role

How You Will Contribute

• You will answer phones, and greet and focus on our donors, while ensuring the safety of donors and our team.
• You will screen new and repeat donors and take and record donor vital signs and finger stick results.
• You will use our Donor Information System, prepare donor charts, maintain accurate records, and coordinate donor compensation.
• You will help identify operational opportunities for continuous improvement and initiate changes to center processes using company approved procedures.
• You will be there for our donors, which includes working a variety of shifts, Saturdays and Sundays, and holidays.

What You Bring To Takeda

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to walk and/or stand for the entire work shift
• Will work evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to lean, bend, stoop, crouch, and reach above shoulders and below knees
• Ability to lift to 5 lbs., and occasional lifting of materials up to 32 lbs. and rarely 50 lbs.
• Fine motor coordination, depth perception, and ability to hear equipment from a distance
• Because of potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens (risk level 1), 90% of work tasks require prolonged glove wear
• 1 or more years minimum experience working in a customer or patient facing role is helpful
• Current license or certification in the state where duties will be assigned: Certified Phlebotomy Technician 1 (CPT1), Certified Phlebotomy Technician 2 (CPT2), Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS), or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT).

U.S. Starting Hourly Wage

The starting hourly wage reflects the actual starting rate for this position. The actual hourly wage offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.

U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term incentives.
