Job summary

Oscar Health is hiring a Part-Time Physician for our Virtual Urgent Care team. The role provides virtual care to Oscar Health Insurance members across designated states, reporting to the Medical Director, Virtual Urgent Care.

We offer a weekend schedule with two 10-hour shifts (1:00 PM–11:00 PM) and a remote work location. Requires Florida/Tennessee licensure via IMLC or eligible, plus active licenses in multiple states.

Qualifications

• MD/DO from an accredited program.
• Board certification in ER, FM, or IM.
• 3+ years of outpatient urgent care or ED experience.
• 2+ years of delivering virtual care/telemedicine.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Licensed in Florida and Tennessee via IMLC or eligible via compact.
• Willing to obtain licensure in additional Oscar Medical Group states.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality care for patients in a virtual setting.
• Collaborate with physicians and/or Advanced Practice Leads as needed for complex patients.
• Follow up on labs, imaging, and closed loop communication with patients and other providers.
• Use virtual exam tools including remote monitoring equipment and remote point-of-care diagnostics.
• Participate in collaborative care models with care team members.
• Attend required meetings to support patient care and service lines.
• Provide feedback to improve operational workflows and product features.
• Comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.

About the role:

You will provide virtual based care to Oscar Health Insurance members within designated Oscar states. You will provide compassionate, evidence-based care to patients using audio, video, and written forms of communicationYou will report into the Medical Director, Virtual Urgent Care.

Hours & Shift:

We offer a weekend part-time schedule consisting of two 10-hour shifts on Saturday and Sunday, working 1:00 PM to 11:00 PM.

Work Location:

This is a remote / work-from-home role. You must reside in one of the following states: Arizona; Arkansas; California; Colorado; District of Columbia; Florida; Georgia; Illinois; Massachusetts; Michigan; Nevada; New Hampshire; New Jersey; New York; North Carolina; Ohio; Pennsylvania; Texas; or Virginia. While your daily work will be completed from your home office, occasional travel may be required for team meetings and company events.

The base pay for this role is: $109 - $143 per hour.

Responsibilities:

• Provide high quality care for patients in a virtual setting
• Collaborate with Physicians and/or Advanced Practice Leads on the Care Team as needed when working with complex patients
• Follow up on labs, imaging, and closed loop communication with patients and other providers as needed
• Use tooling to allow virtual "exams" including remote home monitoring equipment, remote physical exam, remote point of care diagnostics
• Participate in collaborative care model with various care team members including but not limited to registered nurses, medical assistants, PCPs, behavioral health clinicians, and clinical supervisor where applicable
• Participate in required meetings to support patient care including huddles, case conferencing and regular service line All Hands
• Provide feedback to support improvement in operational workflows and product features
• Compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• MD/DO from accredited program
• Board Certification (ER/FM/IM)
• 3+ years of outpatient urgent care or emergency department experience
• 2+ years of experience delivering virtual care/telemedicine
• Ability to read, write and speak in both Spanish and English
• Candidates must be onboarded with active licenses in both Tennessee and Florida via the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC)
• Willingness to be licensed in additional states with our assistance, working with our licensing vendor
• Compact license from IMLCC or eligible for a compact license (hold a full, unrestricted medical license in a state that is a member of the Compact)
• Bonus points: Possession of a current IMLC Letter of Qualification (LOQ) is preferred to accelerate credentialing.
• Able and willing to obtain additional licensure in Oscar Medical Group states: AZ, CA, CT, FL, GA, IA, IL, KS, MI, NC, NE, NJ, NY, OH, OK, PA, TX, VA
