Job summary

Excell Home Care and Hospice in Oklahoma City seeks a part-time Physical Therapy Assistant to join our compassionate team, with an opportunity to grow to full-time. You will work under the direction of a physical therapist to deliver care to patients in their homes and community settings.

The role emphasizes relieving pain, restoring function, and supporting independence, with duties including patient therapy, exercises, device instruction, and careful documentation.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed as a PTA where the HHA is located if licensure is required.
• Graduate from CAPTE-approved PTA program and have passed a national exam for PTAs.
• Possesses and maintains current CPR certification.
• Must be a licensed driver with insured vehicle and in good working order.
• Based in Oklahoma City and serving various counties in OK.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct physical therapy under the direction of the PT and plan of care.
• Treats patient to relieve pain, develop or restore function, and maintain maximum performance.
• Aids patients in active and passive therapeutic exercises, gait and functional training.
• Utilizes physical agents including heat, cold, water, light, electricity, ultrasound and massage.
• Observes and reports patient reactions and changes in condition to the PT.
• Instructs patients in use of wheelchairs, braces, crutches, canes and prosthetic devices.
• Maintains records and notes for the patient’s clinical file.
• Participates in Home Care Team meetings and in-service education.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
