Job summary

Howard Community College is seeking a Pharmacy Technician Instructor to deliver high-quality instruction in the Pharmacy Technician program. You will teach theory, facilitate hands-on practice, and prepare students for national certification and entry into diverse pharmacy settings.

The instructor will create an engaging, inclusive learning environment, maintain accurate records, and collaborate with Workforce Development and employer partners to enhance student success and workforce outcomes.

Qualifications

• Current national pharmacy technician certification (PTCB) or ExCPT required.
• Active Maryland Pharmacy Technician registration in good standing.
• Minimum of three years of recent pharmacy practice experience.
• Associate degree required; Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, education, science, or related field preferred.
• Teaching, training, or workforce development experience preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality instruction in the Pharmacy Technician program.
• Teach theory and hands-on practice; prepare students for certification.
• Utilize Canvas LMS to support in-person, online, and hybrid formats.
• Assess student performance and maintain accurate records.
• Ensure compliance with program and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with Workforce Development and employer partners to enhance outcomes.
• Provide advising and career readiness support.
