Job summary

Meijer is seeking a dedicated pharmacy professional to join our team in Michigan. You’ll interact with patients, promote clinical pharmacy services, and ensure accurate input of prescription data in our dispensing system.

Responsibilities include labeling, insurance adjudication, inventory management, and maintaining a compliant, organized pharmacy environment. State licensure as required, a strong customer service background, and reliable attendance are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Registered and/or state-licensed as required in the practice state.
• Experience in retail/community pharmacy environments preferred.
• Strong customer service skills and a positive attitude.
• Ability to type accurately and maintain neat handwriting.
• Excellent organizational and prioritization abilities.

Responsibilities

• Interact with patients at various service points of contact.
• Promote pharmacy initiatives and clinical services to customers.
• Input patient and prescription information into dispensing systems.
• Create prescription labels and adjudicate insurance claims.
• Retrieve medications from inventory and stock shelves.
• Complete paperwork for filling prescriptions and drug orders.
• Order prescription medications for the Pharmacy Department.
• Maintain a clean, professional, and organized pharmacy.
• Protect patient confidentiality and comply with regulations.
• Adhere to licensure requirements and complete employer training as needed.

The position must practice the profession of pharmacy in an environment that by philosophy and policy promotes patient care. This person must be friendly and provide remarkable customer service to enhance overall patient health.

What You’ll be Doing:

• Level 2
• Interacting with patients at various service points of contact.
• Promoting pharmacy initiatives and clinical services to the customer.
• Inputting customer and prescription information in the pharmacy dispensing system.
• Creating prescription labels and adjudicating insurance claims.
• Retrieving the appropriate medication from inventory.
• Completing paperwork related to filling prescriptions and receiving drug orders.
• Ordering prescription medication for the Pharmacy Department.
• Stocking prescription medication.
• Excellent organization skills with the ability to prioritize workload.
• Effective communication skills and agent of change.
• Maintaining a clean, and orderly pharmacy for a professional appearance.
• Maintaining confidentiality of patient information.
• Licensed in their respective state if required.
• Successful completion of Meijer Employer based training if licensure is not required in their respective state.
