Position Summary... What you\'ll do...

Responsibilities

• Processes member purchases by operating cash registers and related hardware and using appropriate procedures for different payment types and items sold.
• Maintains merchandise presentation in the pharmacy by stocking and rotating merchandise and supplies from distribution centers and suppliers; removing damaged or out-of-date goods; setting up, cleaning, and organizing product displays; signing and pricing merchandise; and securing fragile and high-shrink merchandise.
• Maintains the Pharmacy area in accordance with company policies and procedures by properly handling claims and returns; utilizing equipment to perform merchandising functions such as pricing merchandise, creating signs, verifying on-hand merchandise, arranging and organizing merchandise and supplies; identifying shrink and damages; ensuring a safe work environment; completing required paperwork and logs.
• Monitors and resolves problems in the prescription fulfillment process when necessary by processing information for third-party insurance claims; rescanning illegible images; alerting patients to inventory that is out of stock; partial fills; and the need for physician authorizations on refills; identifying situations requiring pharmacist action.
• Promotes and maintains the Pharmacy\'s professional reputation and provides patients/members with pharmacy products and services in accordance with local, state, and federal laws and corporate policies by assisting the pharmacist in the prescription fulfillment process; processing third-party insurance claims and/or rejections; assisting patients/members with prescription orders and purchases; and completing, maintaining, and securing paperwork and documentation.
• Provides patient/member service in the Pharmacy area by acknowledging the member, identifying member needs, initiating the prescription fulfillment process at the pharmacy drop-off window, creating prescription orders, promoting products and services, resolving member issues and concerns, assisting with purchase decisions, locating over-the-counter merchandise, and maintaining a safe shopping environment.
• Enters prescription data into pharmacy software by reading the prescription, translating information into system codes, transcribing details (e.g., date, drug name, strength, directions for use, SIG, refills, prescriber details) and creating or modifying patient/member records.
• Fills prescriptions by retrieving prescription orders, counting, pouring, measuring or weighing medications, preparing solutions, labeling containers, and operating scanners or automated dispensing systems to ensure accuracy.
• Provides member assistance during prescription pickup by verifying and entering patient information into company systems, marking prescriptions for pickup, gathering required acknowledgments, and logging sales of restricted items as applicable.
• Completes work assignments and priorities by using policies, data, and resources; coordinating with managers, coworkers, customers, and partners; identifying priorities and deadlines; communicating progress; and addressing improvement opportunities and change.
• Maintains compliance with company policies and standards of ethics and integrity by applying related action plans and Open Door Policy in executing business processes and practices.

The hourly wage range for this position is $22.50 to $30.50 per hour. The actual rate will meet or exceed the applicable minimum wage. Other compensation premiums may apply in certain circumstances (e.g., schedule, facility, season, or work performed).

Minimum and Preferred Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: Meets all state requirements to work as a Pharmacy Technician (age, qualification, registration, certification, licensure as required). Must obtain National Pharmacy Technician Certification issued by PTCB (PTCE) or NHA (ExCPT) within 9 months of job entry.
