Job summary

Extendicare is seeking a part-time Personal Support Worker to deliver personal care and daily living assistance under supervision. You will follow the plan of care, support mobility, and observe residents to report changes, while maintaining confidentiality and safety.

Qualifications

• Graduate of Personal Support Worker program (or provincial equivalent certificate with minimum 600 hours).
• Experience working with seniors in community health setting.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.
• Strong interpersonal and customer focus skills.
• Must have basic life support and first aid certification.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to the plan of care as determined by supervisor.
• Assist residents with personal care and activities of daily living.
• Observe and report changes in residents' condition to supervisor.
• Support mobility, transfers, and use of adaptive aids.
• Provide cognitive, social, emotional, and psychological support to residents/families.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident information.
• Attend in-services to develop knowledge and skills.
• Uphold Extendicare's values and code of conduct.
