Job summary

The University of Chicago's Department of Surgery, Section of Pediatric Surgery, is seeking part-time Clinical Associates at 30% effort for renewable terms of up to 3 years. Appointees will contribute pediatric inpatient consultations and trauma call coverage responsibilities to support and complement the faculty in Pediatric Surgery at Comer Children's Hospital and affiliated offsite locations.

These positions do not require teaching or scholarly activity.

Qualifications

• MD or DO required.
• IL license eligibility required or in process.
• Board-certified/Board-eligible in Pediatric Surgery or equivalent.
• Completed accredited Pediatric Surgery fellowship.

Responsibilities

• Provide pediatric inpatient consultations.
• Cover trauma calls as needed.

Job description

The University of Chicago's Department of Surgery, Section of Pediatric Surgery, is seeking part-time Clinical Associates at 30% effort for renewable terms of up to 3 years.

Appointees will contribute pediatric inpatient consultations and trauma call coverage responsibilities to support and complement the faculty in Pediatric Surgery at Comer Children's Hospital and affiliated offsite locations.

These positions do not require teaching or scholarly activity.

Compensation is paid per shift and does not include benefits.

Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must:

1. 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent,
2. 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois,
3. 3) be Board-certified or Board-eligible by the American Board of Surgery (or equivalent) in Pediatric Surgery, and
4. 4) have completed an accredited fellowship and/or equivalent training in Pediatric Surgery.
