Job summary

UPMC is seeking a Transporter to provide hands-on hospital experience by escorting patients and delivering supplies and equipment across the facility. You will ensure safe, timely, and accurate handoffs with nurses, while maintaining professionalism and compassion in interactions with patients and staff.

This part-time position requires weekend/holiday participation and specific evening hours, with a biweekly 40-hour schedule.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and disinfect transportation equipment.
• Log transportation data in the Transport Tracking System or logs.
• Deliver supplies, equipment, medications, and materials to patient units safely and promptly.
• Report transportation activities to the manager.
• Transport patients and adjunct equipment between units and designated areas.
• Maintain courteous professional demeanor with patients, visitors, and staff.
