Job summary

UnitedHealth Group in River Falls, WI is seeking a patient access representative to greet patients and guide them through the standard registration process, collecting demographic and financial data and entering information into the electronic medical record.

This role requires basic customer service experience, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and the ability to work a 6:45am–4:00pm shift in a rotating schedule; training lasts about three weeks.

Qualifications

• 6+ months of customer service experience.
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to work 8 hour shifts between the hours of 6:45am - 4:00pm in the rotating schedule: Week 1: Mon, Wed, Fri; Week 2: Mon, Wed.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be able to work full time during training for about 3 weeks

• Greets and welcomes patient in person.
• Collects demographic and insurance information.
• Checks in or interviews patients to complete appropriate paperwork.
• Directs patient to their appointment or procedure.
• May assist in scheduling add-on appointments.
• Verifies eligibility and benefits information for payers and interprets results.
• Obtains signatures from patients as needed.
• Collects co-pay or deductibles and responds to questions regarding financial assistance programs available.
• Uses resources, tools, and procedures to complete accounts in assigned work queues.
• May gather medical record information from all departments for collection.

• Uses resources, tools, and procedures to complete accounts in assigned work queues
• Assist patients in completion of request for information forms and submits to appropriate department
• May gather medical record information from all departments for collection

Required Qualifications

• 6+ months of customer service experience
• Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products
• Ability to work 8 hour shifts between the hours of 6:45am - 4:00pm in the following rotating schedule
  • Week 1: Monday, Wednesday, Friday
  • Week 2: Monday, Wednesday
• Ability to work full time, standard daytime hours for 3 weeks to complete training upon starting
• Must be 18 years of age OR older

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $16.00 to $29.00 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
