Legacy Church in Portales invites a compassionate Pastoral Care Pastor (Part Time) to join our team. You will provide prayer, counseling, and spiritual support to our congregation during celebrations, transitions, and times of loss, while upholding our values and faith statement.

The role focuses on being present with people, visiting the ill, offering guidance, officiating weddings and memorial services, and collaborating with staff to care for the community.

Qualifications

• Genuine heart for people and a clear calling to pastoral ministry.
• Demonstrated spiritual maturity, compassion, wisdom, and integrity.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build meaningful relationships.
• Ability to minister effectively to people during joyful and difficult circumstances.
• Sound pastoral judgment and the ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with staff and volunteers.

Responsibilities

• Visit congregants who are hospitalized or in need of pastoral care.
• Provide personal prayer and pastoral support to individuals who call, email, or visit the church.
• Provide pastoral counseling within the scope of the position and refer to licensed professionals when needed.
• Officiate weddings in accordance with Legacy Church policies.
• Officiate Celebration of Life (funeral) services and related pastoral activities.
• Respond to communications within 24 hours when reasonably possible.
• Maintain confidentiality, pastoral discretion, and professionalism in all interactions.
• Participate in after-hours emergency pastoral phone coverage and work with staff and volunteers.
