Job summary

The Michaels Companies Inc. is seeking an Event Coordination professional for a Palm Beach Gardens store. You will plan and run multiple events, from children's birthday parties to craft classes, while engaging with customers of all ages in a fun and creative setting.

You’ll also perform face painting and assist with store add-ons and communications. In this role you’ll handle administrative tasks, adapt plans based on client needs, and ensure safety and cleanliness.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate multiple events at once (children's parties, craft classes).
• Instruct and engage participants in crafts; perform face painting and related activities.
• Coordinate add-ons (goody bags, balloons) per store standards and communicate with clients and team.
• Handle emails, calls and paperwork; adapt plans based on client feedback.
• Ensure events run smoothly from setup through cleanup, maintaining safety and cleanliness.
• Cross-train in Custom Framing selling and production; participate in daily store cleanliness.

Event Coordination

• Plan and coordinate multiple events at once including children's birthday parties and other craft classes or events.
• Engage with clients of all ages, from 4 to 94+, by creating an environment of fun and creativity.
• Demonstrate and instruct party participants in the completion of craft projects, perform face painting and other activities.
• Facilitate and implement party add-ons such as goody bags, balloons, etc. to company standards.
• Communicate events with clients and store team members.
• Complete administrative tasks such as answering emails, making phone calls, and completing paperwork as needed.
• Adjust plans and events based on client's feedback and needs.
• Create backup or emergency plans to be executed as needed.
• Ensure client satisfaction for scheduled events.
• Uphold the company's cleanliness and safety standards. Set up, break down, and clean before and after each event.

Customer Experience

• Help customers shop, locate products, and provide them with solutions.
• Provide fast and friendly check out experience.
• Engage customers on benefits of Rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards and complete enrollments.
• Educate customer on Voice of Customer (VOC) survey.
• Assist with Omni channel processes, including Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship From Store (SFS)
• Participate in the truck un-load, stocking and planogram (POGs) processes.
• Complete merchandise recovery and maintenance.
• Perform Store in Stock Optimization (SISO) and AD set duties as assigned.
• Support shrink and safety programs
• Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Company programs to ensure compliance with applicable laws and requirements; execute Company policies and standards.
• Interact with others in an accepting and respectful manner; remain positive and respectful, even in difficult situations; promote commitm…iity to the organization's vision and values; project a positive image and serve as a role model for other Team Members
• Cross trained in Custom Framing selling and production.
• Participate in daily store cleanliness activities including (but not limited to) sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, and maintaining cleanliness of restrooms
• Other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements

• Work Environment: Ability to remain standing for long periods of time.
• Ability to move throughout the store.
• Regular bending, lifting, carrying, reaching, and stretching.
• Lifting heavy boxes and accessing high shelves by ladder or similar equipment
