Qualifications

  • Sixteen (16) years of age; interest in youth athletics and recreation programming.
  • Education leading to a Bachelor’s Degree in Parks/Recreation, Public Administration, Sports Management or a related field preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise City athletic events and patrol park facilities to ensure safety and proper use of park facilities.
  • Open buildings and lock facilities as required and communicate field and facility issues to park maintenance staff.
  • Assist with transitions between games/events with knowledge of the daily activity schedule.
  • Check trash receptacles and restrooms, picking up loose trash when needed.
  • Be available to work evening and weekend hours when athletic activities occur.
  • Monitor weather events and follow safety protocols in case of storms, extreme heat, etc.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Assists Parks & Recreation staff as needed to carry out daily operations.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
