Job summary

Midland Public Schools is seeking a Part-Time Paraprofessional in Special Education to support students in Midland, Michigan. The role offers up to 40 hours weekly, Monday through Friday when instruction is in session, with a starting wage of $16 per hour.

Responsibilities include 1:1 student support, program assistance, and collaboration with staff to implement instructional plans. A high school diploma is required; CPR/First Aid training is preferred and can be provided.

Assignment Information

Multiple Positions

• Full-Time
• Up to 40 Hours/Week
• Monday - Friday (when instruction is in session)
• $16/Hour - Starting wage is based on the current Midland Federation of Paraprofessionals Master Bargaining Agreement

Assignment Functions and Responsibilities

A Special Education Paraprofessional may work with students receiving support such as:

• 1:1 Student Support
• Access to Support
• Program Support
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Education

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent
• CPR/First Aid certified (preferred; willing to be provided training)
• Must be Highly Qualified
  • Completed at least two years of college coursework with 60+ credits -or-
  • Hold an Associate's Degree or higher -or-
  • ParaPro Assessment - Qualifying score of 460+
  • The ETS ParaPro Assessment is a general aptitude test used to assess the skills and knowledge of prospective and practicing paraprofessionals in areas like reading, writing, and math, according to ETS. It's designed to determine if individuals possess the necessary abilities to effectively assist teachers in classroom instruction.
